Also, you could limit the smells so bad smells cannot be produced at all.

You know what I think? I think the other companies are JEALOUS. The power of smell is very important- without it we would not be human.

It's an amazing idea. Imagine, while playing Halo or something you can smell the fresh air and the damp rain forest, and take your revenge on those stinky Covenant...

It's awesome! You can try out perfumes etc before you buy them.

I think adding a heater/cooler system to produce heat and cold during different scenes in a movie is also cool.

So go on with the idea and improve on it and make it better. Don't let those jealous companies hold you back. Also, I would like to buy one. Do you still sell iSmell?

I "landed" on this site in search of finding a company who mixed personal oil scents - I am a great believer in aromatherapy and kudos to you for reaching out with ths idea; life is all about engaging all of our senses. For myslef, watching something with cascading waterfalls, mountains, lakes, etc. while inhaling deeply of scents that relax the nerves and soothe the mind works for me! Don't give up the stage for nay sayers!

Hi :) This is absolutely FASCINATING to me and in my opinion this world of ours is more than ready for it to happen. What's the latest on it?

P.S. Thanks Simon for the link you provided. I think I'll take a look at it as soon as I'm finished writing this.

I think it's a great idea.... good for games, films, shopping, porn ;)

Smell is definatley the next sense that's needed... don't think touch and taste would be as useful, apart from in games and VR headsets (whatever happened to them?!) as they are not so passive - and half of taste is smell anyway!

If it incorporated a smell recording device too it could be used to detect dangerous gasses in the air or neutralise bad smells.... or even create bad smells as a security device!
There's a weird smell in my room at the moment.

Would or could this have any side effects on your brain or scence of smell and hearing, or any other drawbacks in general? For example if the brain is forced to process certain sound waves as scent then what gaurantee is there that the brain would not eventually take other sound waves and process them as scent.

In about 1966 in down town Chicago there was a small demo theather with smells in sync with a short demo movie. The movie contained several oders including a cooking scene, a dog being washed, and of course the joy of flowers. I wonder how all the years have passed and no one put this into the TV world to help sell their products.
